My year in Grade 5
My year in Grade 5 was the most exciting year in Cairo American College that I have ever had. I had a lot of fun in 5th Grade and in my 7th Grade Math Class. In 5th Grade, I learned a lot of things about writing, reading, science, social studies, and lots more. I participated in a lot of activities like the production, the winter assembly, the Nanowrimo, and also the Cairo Challenge Series. The most important part that I did in 5th Grade was how I was one of the authors in the 5K assembly. Another example of how I had fun in 5th Grade was how I was able to get 18 more points in the Math MAP Test which made me very happy and funny.
Reading
Growth: In reading, I learned how to read with expression, to have debates and discussions, and also how to have a healthy reading diet. This helped me to be able to argue for my reason and to work as a team to win debates.Evidence: Some evidence for this is that I read out loud to my partner to show how I read with expression. I also had discussions with my partner, enabling me to be able to win debates and to explain my thoughts.
Next Steps: Next, I will try to work on jotting on post-its more frequently and also to get better at discussions. This will help me in taking notes so that I would be able to have my thoughts close to me whenever I forget.
Writing
Growth: In writing, I learned how to write fantasy, argumentative, persuasive, and lots more. They helped to create strong reasons to help explain my claim. When I learned how to write fantasy, I started to have
Evidence: Some evidence for this is my argumentative essay. I spent a lot of time working on it and it came out the way I wanted it to.
Next Steps: Next, I will try to work on Elaboration and Craft so that I can get more points and get Exceeding.
